Last night

it was past Jacob's bedtime (cuz he had to wake up around 5:30 the next morning) and we finally decided that brushing our teeth and going to bed would be a good idea. Jacob finished before me and went out to the kitchen. I finished brushing my teeth and as soon as I got past the bathroom doorway, I got squirted! turns out that Jacob grabbed the water bottle that we usually use to rehydrate some of our Shelf Reliance freeze dried foods. I guess he thought he would be clever and squirt me. I immediately ran back into the bathroom to grab the water bottle he uses to wet his hair in the mornings (yay for dollar store squirt bottles, right? lol). we battled it out for a good 5mins. unfortuantely for me, I had the wimpy misty squirt bottle that couldn't change settings and Jacob had the one that could shoot in a straight shot. it was so random and so much fun! I love my husband :)

Blessings

I called my mum crying the other day. we got the pay check; it was less than we thought it would be. not even enough to cover rent by itself. we planned to take tithing out first and then try to go from there. my mum could relate to living on a tight budget, but she told me that she couldn't relate to having less than needed to get by. I cried and told her to tell me again that taking out tithing now instead of later was the right thing to do. we already were 9 days late on paying the rent and the check itself wouldn't make it, especially if we took out 10%. she told me it was the right thing to do and then shared with me that she was blessed enough to cover our cell phone bill this month so there was a little extra money in one of my accounts to put towards rent. after the check went in and things were pulled every which way, we had enough to pay rent yesterday and the money in my other account can cover tithing. the Lord has blessed us with a roof over our heads yet another month. He has blessed us with a temporary vehicle that Jacob can pick up from Utah this weekend. I know the Lord will help us find a way to cover the cost in gas for his trip back. I'm not sure how, but I know it will happen. the check dad is sending me for the trip to Texas should come today or tomorrow (hopefully today). I keep praying that it will cover because the way I am taking now, to pick up Alissa and maybe her friend, is at least 150 miles more than I charged my dad for gas... but maybe gas will be cheaper along the way. maybe the money that Alissa (and maybe her friend - if he rides in our car) will be pitching in will be enough to make up the difference. maybe.
Dr. Jason put together a 4 page document to turn into our insurance company that keeps declining my much needed surgery. that should get an approval! its just seeing if I can get the surgery and at least 1 week of recovery in time before I leave.
I made sales through Shelf Reliance! and our loans or grants or whatever come next month.
the blessings keep coming. they may be little ones here and there, but they mean the world to Jacob and I. we are so thankful!
