Fun times

marriage is tough, but I am very thankful for the fun times Jacob and I have :)
for example: tonight Jacob didn't want to brush his teeth because he was already in bed and ready to sleep (except for the teeth brushed part). I had to tickle him and try with all my might to pull him out of bed by his legs while he held onto the other side of the bed. lol. he and I like to pick on each other at times. like while I am humming 'I've been working on the railroad' (sometimes out loud and sometimes in my head)... we have a small area to brush our teeth, so he pokes me or nudges me and I do it back to him. then he does it faster and tries to block me from reciprocating it, but then I get faster (cuz I'm a ninja and all). this all happens while brushing our teeth. I'm surprised one of us hasn't choked yet! Haha.
sometimes water bottles and toothbrushes with toothpaste get involved...but eventually someone has to call mercy or the whole apartment will be soaked!
good times :)

One of our goals :)

we agreed that one of our goals is to see the Seven Wonders of the World! when I looked it up, this is what I found:

The Original Seven Wonders of the World

The Colossus of Rhodes
The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World

Channel Tunnel
CN Tower
Empire State Building
Golden Gate Bridge
Itaipu Dam
Netherlands North Sea Protection Works
Panama Canal

Natural Wonders of the World

In 1997, CNN announced a listing of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World...

Grand Canyon
The Great Barrier Reef
The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro
Mt. Everest
Northern Lights
Paricutin Volcano
Victoria Falls

The "New" Seven Wonders of the World

On July 7, 2007 (7-7-07) an organization announced a "new" set of the Seven Wonders of the World based on online voting from around the world...

Chichen Itza, Mexico - Mayan City
Christ Redeemer, Brazil - Large Statue
The Great Wall, China
Machu Picchu, Peru
Petra, Jordan - Ancient City
The Roman Colosseum, Italy
The Taj Mahal, India

so, as you might be able to tell, this is s a little more difficult than we thought it might be. I think we are gonna pick and choose. haha. seeing them ALL would be quite fantastic, though! don't you think? :)

Learning and unknown adventures

this is something Jacob and I are learning together. sometimes having a plan B or even a plan C isn't enough. promotion means full time. full time means trying online and night classes during on-track. our major not offering online or night classes means jeopardy to promotion. jeopardy to promotion means a merciful boss. summer job means opportunity. opportunity means sacrifices. sacrifices means choices. choices means disagreeing and confusion and prayer and indecisiveness and limitations. all of those means sleepless nights. sleepless nights means needing to make decisions. needing to make decisions means needing to make multiple backup plans because the world seems to be against all of our hopes and ideas. and that means why we are where we are right now.
craziness right? definitely getting our brains going, though. a bunch of disappointment and a bunch of blessings. one seems to be trumping the other right now, but that is where patience comes in. patience is a blessing :)
