One of our goals :)

we agreed that one of our goals is to see the Seven Wonders of the World! when I looked it up, this is what I found:

The Original Seven Wonders of the World

The Colossus of Rhodes
The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World

Channel Tunnel
CN Tower
Empire State Building
Golden Gate Bridge
Itaipu Dam
Netherlands North Sea Protection Works
Panama Canal

Natural Wonders of the World

In 1997, CNN announced a listing of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World...

Grand Canyon
The Great Barrier Reef
The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro
Mt. Everest
Northern Lights
Paricutin Volcano
Victoria Falls

The "New" Seven Wonders of the World

On July 7, 2007 (7-7-07) an organization announced a "new" set of the Seven Wonders of the World based on online voting from around the world...

Chichen Itza, Mexico - Mayan City
Christ Redeemer, Brazil - Large Statue
The Great Wall, China
Machu Picchu, Peru
Petra, Jordan - Ancient City
The Roman Colosseum, Italy
The Taj Mahal, India

so, as you might be able to tell, this is s a little more difficult than we thought it might be. I think we are gonna pick and choose. haha. seeing them ALL would be quite fantastic, though! don't you think? :)

Learning and unknown adventures

this is something Jacob and I are learning together. sometimes having a plan B or even a plan C isn't enough. promotion means full time. full time means trying online and night classes during on-track. our major not offering online or night classes means jeopardy to promotion. jeopardy to promotion means a merciful boss. summer job means opportunity. opportunity means sacrifices. sacrifices means choices. choices means disagreeing and confusion and prayer and indecisiveness and limitations. all of those means sleepless nights. sleepless nights means needing to make decisions. needing to make decisions means needing to make multiple backup plans because the world seems to be against all of our hopes and ideas. and that means why we are where we are right now.
craziness right? definitely getting our brains going, though. a bunch of disappointment and a bunch of blessings. one seems to be trumping the other right now, but that is where patience comes in. patience is a blessing :)

Good dreams :)

I have seen almost every episode of Good Luck Charlie. therefore, Jacob has seen almost every episode of that show.
sometimes Jacob has dreams where this adorable little girl is our baby.
I love those dreams :)

One of my favorite parts

Jacob is on the other side of the apartment and sneezes.
I say, "bless you!"
He says, "I love you too!"
Every time, without fail :)

In the kitchen

we paid rent recently. that means that we have no money. like, less than $20 no money. so we haven't really went on a grocery run for about 3 weeks. trying to figure out what is for supper is very difficult. I have had to eaten things that I shouldn't be eating (cereal that isn't Kris-proof with milk that isn't Kris-proof, for example). Jacob and I had instant rice (chedder and broccoli or chicken and broccoli-the ones on sale last time) for supper last night, lunch today, and maybe even supper tonight. I guess it is kinda like ramen noodles, in my case. we have pasta (which I can't eat), but no sauces. Jacob could make bread! I can't eat bread... we have applesauce, cream cheese, butter, a tomato, 1/2 a cucumber, some canned fruit, a box or two of cereal, a few flour tortillas, normal rice, chocolate, canned tomatoes, muffin mixes, popcorn kernels thingys, water, ice, frozen OJ, Thrive fruits and veggies, limp celery, condiments... no bread, milk, eggs...oh wait, I can't eat any of that anyways. ugh. the grant money should be making its way into the bank account this week. then we can go grocery shopping and stock up :)
my food is so expensive and seems to need to be fresh. it is a pain in the butt, to say the least, but it will work out. I'm going to be stocking up on gluten-free Betty Crocker baking mix stuff! it doesn't taste very amazing, but it is better than some stuff I've tried. I should be getting spelt in my host benefits package this week (aka free food!) and my mum gave me one of her grinders. Jacob and I are crossing fingers and saying prayers that I can eat that stuff and it will be similar enough to flour!
OH! I just remember we have some oats in the cupboard! might be having oatmeal with OJ tonight. I'll make enough so I can eat some for breakfast too ;) now to decide what to make for Jacob... (he doesn't like oatmeal, pancakes, brownies, cake, cookies...but if it isn't one of the few things he doesn't like, he will eat pretty much anything) maybe I will make him a package of blueberry muffins! we have one or two of those. unless it needs an egg...oh! I have Thrive powder eggs! and then he can fend for himself after he eats his muffins. lol. but for reals, I don't know what I'm making him. maybe if I go and stand in the kitchen and stare at things for a while longer, something will just appear. hey, it could happen, right?
wish me luck!

Commendable trait

I got a perm about a week ago. I have yet to get the stuff to "style" it, but it doesn't look too bad.
my hair smells yucky. Jacob said it smells like Fritos. He doesn't necessarily like the smell of Fritos (so he told me after saying it smelt like them). I keep washing my hair and it still smells weird...
Jacob agrees, but he still pulls me in to give me those hugs and kisses and puts a smile on my face :)
he is truthful, but not to the point that it hurts my feeling dramatically.
commendable trait.
I love my husband and his commendable traits.

The movie list

My goal is to slowly narrow down the list of movies that Jacob hasn't seen that I like. You know what I mean? She's the Man, Sydney White and all 3 Step Up movies were some of the movies. Then he was exposed to some TV shows like Psych, Jericho, and Doctor Who ;)
This week we watch Just Like Heaven. It is kinda slow, but I like it and hoped he would see it at least once in his life. Tonight we watched A Walk To Remember. I don't full-out cry to many movies, but I always cry to the last part of this one. However, I love this movie. I think Jacob did too! It is not his number one, but I think, at some point, he would pop it in the dvd player by his own choosing. That's good enough for me :)
I'm not ALL about chickflicks, but when I have my moments, Jacob is super sweet and takes them very well without fuss. I like that he can watch action movies and girl movies. He is such a wonderful man!
